TECHNICAL STAFF

Pajarito Scientific Corporation (PSC) is actively seeking a Software/Systems Engineer interested in challenging career opportunities in the nuclear instrumentation field. PSC provides non-destructive assay instrumentation, consultation and operations services to a world-wide customer base.

Successful candidates will have experience in the following areas:

• Visual C/C++ software development using Microsoft Foundation classes.

• Quality Software design, verification and validation methods.

• Configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems.

Additional knowledge in the following areas, while not required, will be beneficial:

• PLC interface programming for MMI/HMI applications

• Visual Basic software development.

• Systems testing, debug, commissioning, factory and site acceptance testing.

• Preparation of user documentation and training programs

• Conducting user training

A Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Effective team working skills and a practical “hands on” approach are important qualities for this role. Some travel required.

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, SAFETY AND QUALITY ENGINEER

Work will be in the Oakridge, Tennessee area.

Pajarito Scientific Corporation is currently seeking a quality professional with background and knowledge in Environment, Health, Safety and Quality compliance.

The successful candidate will manage the development, implementation and maintenance of company policies, procedures and work instructions.

This position will focus on Quality Assurance activities as follows:

• Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes recommendations accordingly.

• Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating Environmental, Safety and Health policy and procedure manuals.

• Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.

• Needs to be knowledgeable of the following: DOE Order 414.1C, Quality Assurance; 10 CFR Part 830, Subpart A ? Quality Assurance Requirements, ASME NQA-1-1989, Quality Assurance Program Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications; 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B ? Quality Assurance Criteria for Nuclear Power Plants and Fuel Reprocessing Plants; and ISO 9001:2000 - Quality Management Systems.

• Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.

• Acts as advisor to environmental, health, and safety engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.

Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in the compliance field or related areas. Needs to be trained as a Lead Auditor (NQA-1 or ISO 9001:2000). Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the ESH&Q fields. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must be able to perform a variety of complex tasks from analysis to implementation. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a unit/department head. ASQ certification is preferred.
